All types of salt which including table salt has its origin from a sea or a salty body of water, but not all salts currently on the market come from the oceans in existence today like Himalayan Salt. What does that mean? Salts that are not sea salt are often derived from underground salt deposits left behind by seawater at some point. 

The main difference between Himalayan Salt and regular table Salt is primarily that Himalayan salt is often mined by hand and very pure with little process, it is one of the closest natural source of salt and it contain 84 traces of mineral (sodium, calcium, magnesium, potassium and iron and others) that benefits our body.
